Booking Disclaimer
CheapTripps can surface creative routes – self-connections (combining flights from different airlines) and, occasionally, hidden-city style savings. These can be far cheaper, but they carry real risks. Read this before you book one.
Separate tickets mean no protection
On a self-connect itinerary each leg is a separate ticket. If the first flight is delayed and you miss the next one, the second airline owes you nothing – no rebooking, no refund. You absorb the cost. Leave generous time between legs.
Baggage
Bags are usually not through-checked between separate tickets. Expect to collect and re-check your luggage at each connection, and to pay each airline’s baggage fees separately.
Hidden-city and throwaway ticketing
Booking a longer route and getting off at the layover may breach the airline’s conditions of carriage. Airlines can cancel the rest of the itinerary, void frequent-flyer miles or refuse future bookings. Never check a bag on such a ticket – it travels to the final destination. Use this at your own risk.
Schedule changes
Airlines change schedules. A connection that worked when you booked may not work after a timetable change – and with separate tickets nobody re-protects you.
Your responsibility
CheapTripps shows these options for convenience. The decision to book, and every consequence of it, is yours. Always verify times, visa and transit requirements and the conditions on the booking site. If in doubt, choose a single through-ticket.
